Republic Waste Service: Big Changes for 2025

As you may have heard, we are transitioning to direct billing for PEHOA members who are getting their trash service through the association. Effective January 2025, Republic will take back administration of our residents’ trash services. Using the following link to pay your PEHOA annual $30 membership will ensure that we can easily notify Republic of your paid membership status, and you will be eligible for the trash discount: https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/membership-16

This means that going forward, all questions, service requests, and other communications regarding your trash service through Republic will be addressed directly to them. It also means that you will start paying Republic directly for these services rather than going through PEHOA.

Republic bills every quarter, and the first bill should be out to you before the end of the month for January, February, and March. At the end of March you will be billed for April, May, and June, etc. They’ve agreed to keep our discount as it has been. Below are some links that should help if you have questions, or you can call Republic for more information. They also have an app that allows you to report damaged bins, missed pick ups, etc. The link for that is also below.

For any other questions or concerns, you can call them directly at 877-698-7274. Make sure to tell them you are in the Princeton Estates HOA account. Here’s the link to download the Republic app which also allows you to do many of the things listed above: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details.

2025 Membership Dues – You Can Now Pay Online

Hello, it is time for renewing your PEHOA annual membership dues ($30 per household) for 2025. We have added a new payment service this year which should lower our costs (they provide free services for non-profit organizations). The more people that use this, the less cost and work for our PEHOA board. Please use this link to pay the $30 dues, regardless if you use the group rate for Republic trash services:

If you have questions, please email the PEHOA Board at PehoaKentwood@gmail.com.

Thank you,

PEHOA Board

Important Message regarding Republic Trash Service for 2025

Hi neighbors!

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying a peaceful holiday season. Like many of you, these past 3-4 months have been particularly challenging. Unfortunately, the challenges have been somewhat overwhelming since early fall, and my performance as Treasurer of PEHOA hasn’t always matched my desire to serve. I sincerely apologize to those affected personally by this.

With that in mind, I want to let you know that I will be stepping down as Treasurer as of January 1st. Angie Hinkle will be taking over the role, and I hope you’ll show her the same level of support and understanding that you’ve so graciously extended to me over the past four years.

Looking ahead, I’m pleased to share that for those of you receiving Trash Service through PEHOA, Republic will take over the administration of the waste removal program starting in the new year—without affecting our discount. Beginning in January, you will receive quarterly bills for trash services directly from Republic, and payments will also go directly to them.

For any concerns—missed pickups, bulk pickups, replacement bins, etc.— you’ll now contact Republic instead of PEHOA. They offer several ways to connect, including their smartphone app, website, phone line, and email.

Lastly, please note that in the next couple of weeks, PEHOA will be billing current members for dues only, which remain at $30 per year.  You still must be a paid member of PEHOA in order to receive trash services from Republic with the discount.

Thank you so much for the grace you’ve shown me over the past four years. I hope you’ll extend that same grace to Angie and the rest of the truly wonderful people on your PEHOA Board in the coming years. It has been an honor to serve as your Treasurer, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our community.

Beth Lewis, PEHOA Treasurer

Holiday Lights Contest

This year, we will be trying something a little different in an attempt to get as many houses decorated as possible.  Every neighbor who makes an effort to put up outdoor holiday decor will be entered to win one of four $25 gift cards.  The Top 10 houses who go above and beyond to “wow” the neighbors will get an additional chance at a $100 gift card.  If you have contributed to making our neighborhood look festive, simply enter your address below and indicate whether you consider your home to be in the top 10.  (Judges will verify before declaring any winners.)  Entries will be accepted through Sunday, December 8 and we plan to compile a fun scavenger hunt of the most unique outdoor fixtures.

Simply fill out this Google Form by Sunday, December 8th to enter to win!

Notice to Members receiving Trash Services through PEHOA

Dear PEHOA Members with Republic Services:

We wanted to inform you that we are currently working to address a service issue with our trash provider, Republic. There have been some recent organizational and staffing changes at Republic that have caused delays in fulfilling service requests from our residents in a timely manner. The PEHOA board is working diligently to pursue a resolution to this problem.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this situation and will provide updates as soon as we have more information.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Your PEHOA Board Members
